The Greene County Schools board of education will resume its open forums next Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 5:30 pm at the administrative building, 204 W. Madison St in Jefferson.
The open forums are an opportunity for members of the public to discuss items of their choice with board members and administrators. There will not be a quorum of board members present, so it will not be an “official” meeting and no action will be taken.
The open forums will be held the second Wednesday of each month, with different board members at each one. They will be held to one hour in length.
At the first forum, held last April, parents raised concerns about the district’s attendance policy; those concerns were addressed and the attendance policy was revised during the summer. Bullying and a fulltime athletic director were discussed in May. A forum was held in June, but with no members of the community present, it was determined then to suspend the forums until the new school year.
